History
Founded on a deep-rooted love for music, Centre de Musique Victor has grown from a local gem into a cornerstone of the Quebec music scene. For years, we have been more than just a retailer; we are a hub where beginners and professionals alike find the tools to express their creativity. Our journey began with a simple mission: to provide high-quality instruments paired with the kind of expert, personalized advice that only true enthusiasts can offer.
As we expanded across Saint-Hyacinthe, Drummondville, Granby, and Sherbrooke, we remained dedicated to the community, fostering local talent through our practice spaces and specialized services. Today, our history is written in every chord played on a Gibson or Yamaha from our collection. We continue to evolve, blending our traditional commitment to service with a modern digital experience, ensuring that the next generation of musicians always has a place to call home.

1943
Victor Martin acquires a lease on Cascade Street in Saint-Hyacinthe. He then opens a store specialized in musical instruments, music sheets and vinyl.
1963
The store adds radios, televisions and some appliances. With the need to get more space, the store moves on Saint-Simon Street.
1966
On the 16th of September, a fire destroys the store.
1967
In novembre, Victor Martin reunites with his store still located on Saint-Simon Street. Philippe Martin, son of Victor, will join the family business.
1973
Victor Martin suffers a cardiac arrest that will sadly take his life at the age of 72. Philippe will then continue as the only owner of the business.
1980
France Guilmain start up the CMV Music School.
1994
Robert Pelletier and Brigitte Leith become owners of Centre de musique Victor.
1997
Claude Lalonde becomes the owner of the CMV Music School.
2001
Robert Pelletier and Brigitte Leith improve the business by buying the CMV Music School
2004
Acquisition of the Centre de musique Victor by Rémy and Patrick Bazinet.
2006
Acquisition of the CMV Music School
2007
Acquisition of the store Musique Jean Verville from Drummondville. The store will keep running with the name :« Centre de musique Victor »
2009
Acquisition of Luc Musique from Granby who will continue running under the new banner: « Centre de musique Victor ».
2010
The Granby store moves in a more spacious location on La Rue Principale. Opening of the second CMV Music School at the same place.
2014
Acquisition of the building on 2190 Dessaules Street in Saint-Hyacinthe, relocating both the store and the CMV Music School in the same premise.
2018
Purchase of a new building in Drummondville and relocation in a new and improved store. Opening of the third CMV Music School.
2020
Blouin Piano is now a part of Centre de musique Victor and relocated in a bigger location with full line musical instruments.
